Objectives: This is a three year project starting in 2011 and ending in 2013. This project will impact the lives of five indigenous communities over the three year period, reaching over 500 people.  After three years the Project will achieve the following:

  • Water tanks have been constructed and maintained by the villagers given appropriate training and their organized efforts to ensure water potability and equitable water distribution.

  • Communities are able to prevent and administer basic medicines for common illnesses given health education and training by the local health providers.

  • Farmers  have  utilized  improved sustainable cropping and garden techniques, and small livestock husbandry techniques, and have increasingly adopted organic farming technology. These have resulted in higher yields and quality cash crops which are able to compete well in the local markets. Famers will have greater capacity to cope with natural disaster.

  • The environment has been restored and protected through tree replanting, adherence to local laws and promotion of positive cultural practices relating to environmental education and protection.
